While many aftermarket rods utilize standard 4340 steel, Eagle's "ESP" 3-D rods incorporate higher levels of nickel and chrome. This composition increases strength and fatigue life without compromising ductility.
Testing indicates that Eagle's two-piece forging outperforms traditional one-piece forgings. Each "ESP" rod is clearly marked for identification. Correct rod bolt torque is crucial; as the most stressed fastener in an engine, improper torque can lead to premature rod failure.
