Once you press down on the brake pedal in your vehicle, the Brake Light Switch illuminates your brake lights. This component, which is typically found just under your dashboard and above the pedal, is important to your Nissan braking system.

Since your brake lights inform nearby vehicles that you plan to stop or slow down, a damaged Brake Light Switch can increase the risk of an incident. Once this car part becomes compromised or disconnected, it will likely not turn on your brake lights when you press down on the brake pedal. In effect, your brake lights may stop operating completely and other drivers may not know your next move on the road.

A broken Brake Light Switch may also lead to circuit issues, and your vehicle's brake lights might stay illuminated at all times, even when you aren’t applying the brakes. Not only would other vehicles not anticipate your intent on the road, the bulb in your brake light will likely burn out quicker, too. If left unfixed, a short-circuiting Brake Light Switch can also lead to battery drain, leaving you with a car that won't start up.

Fortunately, if you want to test a potentially damaged Brake Light Switch, you can test it using a digital multimeter. If you've run the test and realized that it needs to be replaced, can you do it on your own? Installation is relatively easy depending on your experience with this kind of job, but different vehicles require different installation practices.

Looks like I get to be the first review for these guys. Let me start out by saying that I have had 3 other cars of a similar caliber to my GTR serviced/worked on and upgrades installed at other shops and none took the pride and level of detail that these guys did. I wish I could see all the welds on the downpipes and exhaust because it looked like artwork. Their fabricator made sure to send me daily updates and pictures which was also a big deal to me.
