Do I need a single-disc or twin-disc clutch?

Single-disc clutches are great for mild bolt-on modifications and daily driving, offering a stock-like pedal feel and smooth engagement. However, if you are running forced induction, heavy nitrous, or pushing significantly higher horsepower and torque, a multi-disc (twin or triple) clutch is required. They offer massive holding capacity to prevent clutch slip under heavy load, though they may introduce a slightly stiffer pedal feel and minor gear chatter.

Why should I upgrade to a Limited Slip Differential (LSD)?

A factory open differential sends power to the wheel with the least resistance, resulting in "one-wheel peel" and lost traction. Upgrading to a mechanical Limited Slip Differential (LSD) distributes torque equally to both drive wheels. This drastically improves acceleration off the line, cornering stability on the track, and overall grip in low-traction environments.

When is it time to upgrade my axles or driveshaft?

You should upgrade your axles and driveshaft if you are launching your car on a prepped drag strip, running sticky track tires, or if you have significantly increased your engine's torque output. Factory axles and heavy two-piece driveshafts are common failure points under heavy load. Upgrading to heavy-duty chromoly axles and a one-piece aluminum or carbon fiber driveshaft prevents catastrophic breakage and reduces rotational mass for faster acceleration.

What is the benefit of a short shifter and upgraded bushings?

Factory shifters often feel sloppy due to soft rubber mounting bushings and long throws. A short-throw shifter changes the pivot point to reduce the physical distance your hand needs to move between gears. Pairing this with upgraded urethane or solid shifter bushings removes the "mushy" feeling in the cabin, resulting in crisp, highly precise, and much faster gear changes.

How often should I change my transmission and differential fluid?

For standard street driving, always follow your manufacturer's recommended intervals (typically every 30,000 to 60,000 miles). However, if you track your car, tow heavy loads, or participate in motorsports, drivetrain fluids break down much faster due to extreme heat. In high-performance applications, we recommend replacing your gear oil and transmission fluid annually or after every few track events using premium synthetic fluids to protect your gears and synchros.
