Increase stiffness and reinforce the torque box in your 1979-2004 Mustang with Torque Box Reinforcement Braces from BMR Suspension. The Fox-chassis Mustangs were not known for being super strong. When large amounts of torque are applied to the Fox chassis, the factory torque boxes are known to crack and rip. This causes all kinds of rearend alignment issues, poor performance, and unsafe driving conditions. Designed from CNC-laser cut, CNC-formed steel plate and DOM steel tubing, BMR’s Torque Box Reinforcement Braces are designed to bolt into the ’79-’04 Mustang chassis, adding strength to the upper and lower control arm mounts. This means you can put as much power and torque to the wheels as possible, without fear of damaging this critical area of the chassis. BMR’s TBR004 Torque Box Reinforcement Braces are designed for street performance, drag race, and handling applications. This kit includes the tubular braces and hardware to reinforce the upper control arm mounts, and the plate style lower control arm mounts. The upper tubular reinforcement brackets tie the upper control arm mounts to the rear frame rails, adding strength to the mounts. The lower plates bolt in using supplied hardware and require very little fabrication to complete. If your Mustang makes extreme amounts of power, or if your primary use is for racing, these parts (lower plates) can be welded in for extra strength.
