The COBB SF Intake + Airbox System (Black) for the 2015–2018 Subaru WRX STI delivers the performance benefits of both a short ram intake and a cold air intake while eliminating the typical issues seen with aftermarket systems. Designed around precision airflow management, this intake uses a custom conical filter, a CFD-engineered velocity stack, and a unique airflow straightener grid to produce smooth, consistent airflow across the MAF sensor. This eliminates turbulence, dead spots, and inconsistent readings that can cause drivability issues.

The intake body is molded from a high-temperature plastic composite, reducing heat absorption compared to metal intakes while maintaining a light, strong structure. This improves intake air temperatures and overall reliability under aggressive driving. The included SF Airbox encloses the intake and channels fresh cold air directly from the OEM snorkel, shielding it from hot engine bay air. Its unique design also prevents water ingestion—an issue common with traditional fender-mount CAI setups.

As with all 2008+ Subaru aftermarket intakes, tuning is required for proper MAF scaling. COBB provides Accessport Off-The-Shelf Maps, making setup as simple as installing the intake, flashing the tune, and driving.
