Description

The COBB SF Intake and Airbox System for the 2015–2018 Subaru WRX STI delivers the perfect balance of performance, reliability, and OEM-like fitment. This uniquely engineered air intake combines the advantages of both a short ram intake and a cold air intake—without any of the typical drawbacks.

At the core of the system is a custom conical filter paired with a CFD-designed velocity stack and a proprietary airflow straightener grid. These components work together to smooth incoming airflow and ensure accurate MAF sensor readings, eliminating turbulence-related dead spots that commonly affect other aftermarket intakes.

The intake body is constructed from a high-temperature plastic composite—lighter than metal and far more effective at rejecting under-hood heat. This ensures cooler intake air temperatures and more consistent performance compared to metal-tube systems that absorb and retain engine-bay heat.

The included SF Airbox transforms the SF intake into a cold air system, sealing off the filter from hot engine air while still using the OEM snorkel to feed fresh air from the grille. This design eliminates the water-ingestion issues found in traditional fender-mount cold air intakes and maintains safe, reliable airflow in all weather conditions.

All 2008+ Subaru aftermarket intakes require tuning for proper MAF calibration, and COBB provides Accessport Off-The-Shelf Maps so you can simply install, flash, and drive with confidence.
