Product Overview

The Girodisc A1-206 390mm Front Brake Rotor System is a direct replacement for the factory McLaren front brake discs, engineered to deliver superior cooling, reduced unsprung weight, and consistent braking performance under extreme conditions.

Designed for high-performance street and track use, this two-piece floating rotor system uses motorsports-grade materials and proven racing technology to eliminate common issues such as rotor warping, cracking, and excessive heat soak found in OEM setups.

Construction & Design

  • Rotor Ring: Cast iron manufactured to the same specification used by professional racing organizations

  • Hat Section: CNC-machined 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum

  • Vane Design: Curved internal vanes act as a centrifugal pump, forcing cooling air through the disc for maximum heat dissipation

Floating Mount System

  • 12 high-strength alloy steel drive pins

  • Cadmium-plated for long-term corrosion resistance

  • Class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers

  • Anti-noise spring washers eliminate cold rattle while allowing thermal expansion

  • Self-centering design maintains proper alignment between pads

Important Brake Pad Note

This system requires brake pads with an annulus (pad swept area) of 66mm or less.
This design choice keeps rotor weight at a reasonable level while maintaining excellent thermal performance. Pads with a larger annulus than OEM CCM rotors are intentionally avoided to prevent unnecessary mass.

Multiple pad compounds are available depending on street or track needs.

Key Benefits

  • Direct bolt-on replacement for OE rotors

  • Superior cooling and fade resistance

  • Reduced rotor warping under heavy braking

  • Replaceable iron rotor rings for long-term cost savings

  • Ideal for performance pads and high-temperature brake fluid
