Your Engine Oil Filter does exactly as the name suggests; it filtrates the oil in your Nissan engine. As motor oil circulates through and reduces friction between engine parts, the filter captures and traps impurities, so they won't reach your vehicle's engine.
While the engine maintains your Nissan, it burns fuel and eventually makes things such as sludge and debris. If your vehicle cannot properly filter out these contaminants because you have a grimy or blocked Engine Oil Filter, these contaminants may blend with your oil and may lead to very pricey repair costs.
When your Nissan's Engine Oil Filter hasn't been replaced, it can become clogged due to excess excessive gunk. So what happens when an Engine Oil Filter becomes too dirty? Your fuel efficiency and fluid pressure may decline, and your car's ventilation system may become damaged and begin to emit a burning oil smell.
But when is the best time to get a new Engine Oil Filter installed? Typically, your Engine Oil Filter change should occur as often as you change your engine oil. If you frequently take short trips or if you do tons of interstate driving, it's likely that you will need to change it out more frequently to maintain your car's engine health.
Are you able to install your Engine Oil Filter on your own? Maybe, but it may require some tricky finagling through the engine in order to find the filter location.
Consult your Nissan owner's manual before starting to prevent injuring yourself or ruining critical engine pieces. Overall, it may be better to have it installed by a licensed Nissan service center instead.
Help extend the life of your Nissan engine by buying a genuine OEM Engine Oil Filter from Nissan Parts and it will fit your vehicle seamlessly.
