R1 Ceramic pads use integrally molded friction material with rubber-steel-rubber noise-control shim construction, a friction underlayer, positive molding and scorched friction surfaces. Pad shapes are slotted and chamfered where applicable. Exact friction composition, pad quantity, mounting-hardware requirements, wear-sensor requirements and brake position vary by application and should always be matched to the individual R1 part number.
