Toyo AT3
I’ve been a Toyo guy for some time now on all of my trucks. With wonderful success, I currently run MT’s, loved RT’s! Tried the AT2’s an, unfortunately wasn’t thrilled. Don’t get me wrong. They still wore like any other Toyo, just didn’t like the performance of the design. After hearing the reviews on the AT3’s, I decided to give them a go. I put 265/65R17’s in my 16 Canyon. This is a crew cab short bed with the 2.8 Duramax. Only been a few days however, they already have 500 miles. Obviously not as quiet as an A.S.radial. Much quieter than I had expected. So far, great in the rain. I intentionally hit pooled water. At highway speeds. Water displacement was good. Solid control. Couldn’t get them to hydroplane. The difference in mileage is minimal. Especially considering the additional unsprung weight typical to Toyo’s. No snow yet. Mega winter storm coming in a few days so, we’ll see. Dig hook up well in sand, gravel and, soft ground. No serious mud yet. Based on the tread pattern, the rock clearing is right along the line of tires with similar design.
